Dreamcathers
The film adapts the story of an enormously successful Hungarian young adult
fiction “Gregory and the Dream Catchers” by Gyula Böszörményi, first published in 2002.
The books and the animation film are both set in a magical two-sided world, and they use
elements of ancient shamanistic and pagan cultures. Parallel to our own reality, exists
a plane that holds all the dreams, fantasies and stories of mankind. This world lives only
in and originates only from our own minds, our imagination, and appears as a mystical giant, endless tree, called the World Tree. On this tree an infinite number of dreams, fantasies
and stories thrive and can be entered by certain magical people, collectively called
the Dreamers.
The series is directed by Mikul Mácsai.
